Adopting a public health-style perspective that embraces data-driven investigation, population thinking, and preventative approaches to shared risks would be transformative for cybersecurity. In an effort to analyze the effectiveness of interventions, CyberGreen has adopted the Health Belief Model from the field of traditional health.
We call it the “Cyber Belief Model” and we’ve used it as a guide in conducting interviews with various enterprise-level employees to understand the perceived benefits and inhibitions related to preventative strategies and mitigation of cyber incidents and risk. The goal of this research is to enlighten and enable enterprise security teams to better evaluate existing practices, test alternatives, and better predict future threats.
In this workshop, we discuss the Cyber Belief Model and present some key findings from our interviews.
