New Year message from CyberGreen’s founder
I hope you are all doing well and that you had a great start to your new year!
At CyberGreen, we’ve hit the ground running with some exciting updates and plans for 2023!
Developments to the IIHMF and the CBM
CyberGreen recently developed the Cyber Public Health model, which is based on the idea that cybersecurity is a “public health” issue rather than an individual one. This led to the development of the Internet Infrastructure Health Metrics Framework (IIHMF) – a blueprint for measuring the health of internet infrastructure. Last year, we developed the metrics for, and started scoring the security of, three internet infrastructure components (DNS, Routing, and Open Services) across 250 countries and territories.
We are also very excited with the recent development of our Cyber Belief Model (CBM). The CBM is a tool to understand why people/organizations don’t act on cybersecurity advice. This is a powerful tool for policymakers to understand why organizations are not taking hoped-for defensive measures and assess if policy interventions can influence relevant factors. We are particularly motivated to further pursue the development of this model through quantification, which could improve our understanding of the impacts of policy choices and testable predictions, in conjunction with the IIHMF’s scoring mechanism.
What’s to come in 2023
In 2023, CyberGreen is committed to the further development of our initiatives with the IIHMF and the CBM. For the IIHMF, we will be adding three additional components to measure and score, which will give us a more comprehensive view of global internet infrastructure health. We are finally moving into the phase of working with policymakers to support a metrics-driven policy design.
Lastly, some personal news: I was recently nominated for membership at the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council member for a two-year term. I am honored and excited for the opportunity to continue advocating for a metrics-driven approach to cyber resiliency.
