Workshop on 2/27/2025: Cross-Cultural Cyber Resilience: Evaluating Health Model Assumptions in Security Decision-Making
We hosted an exciting workshop in February! This month, we heard a presentation on “Cross-Cultural Cyber Resilience; Evaluating Health Model Assumptions in Security Decision-Making“ which was an insightful presentation and discussion led by William Smeal.
William Smeal is a PhD student at Indiana University, currently completing his dissertation in absentia. His research spans various fields related to literacy in the digital and cyber age, with a particular focus on cybersecurity. He is especially interested in phishing resilience and identification, examining how writing style, language usage, and perceptions of formality and officiality contribute to establishing legitimacy in cyberspace. Given the Anglo-centric nature of much of the internet, he also explores internet habits among diverse, non-English-speaking populations.
